On the program are Beethoven trio opus 1 nr 2 in G major, Shostakovich trio opus 67 in E minor and Brahms trio opus 87 in C major.
The original program with clarinetist Michael Norsworthy has been postponed until next season. Michael suffered a broken finger when a taxi door closed on his hand, which will keep him out of commission for a few more weeks.
We are very happy that violinist Alla Krolevich has agreed to play the concert. Alla was born in 1964 in the town Polevskoy in the Sverdlovsk region. Starting in 1985 she played with the Leningrad Conservatory String Quartet (which later became the St. Petersburg String Quartet). With the quartet, Alla was the Grand Prix winner of the All-Soviet Union Quartet Competition in Voronezh in 1986, and a laureate of the First International Shostakovich Competition in Moscow the same year. In 1990 she and her family immigrated to Israel, where she played in the Israel Symphony Orchestra (Rishon Letsion) and in the Israel Opera and Ballet Theater and remained very active in the chamber music circuit. Alla rejoined the St. Petersburg String Quartet in October 2005 after moving to the United States
and currently resides in South Florida.
As always a champagne reception concludes the concert.
